Dr. Yael Cidon is the owner of PetVets Animal Hospital. She graduated with High Honors in 1992, having earned a Bachelor's of Science and a Degree in Veterinary Medicine from Purdue University.
Animals have been an integral part of Dr. Cidon's life. The past 35 years of small animal experience and education has made her well-versed in the language and behavior of cats and dogs.
Prior to the creation of PetVets Animal Hospital in 1997, Dr. Cidon practiced as an attending and emergency clinician at a busy 24-hour emergency hospital in the northwest suburbs.
Dr. Cidon has always referred to her pets as her 'kids.' In 2004, two human children were added into the mix when her twin boys, Noah and Gabriel were born. Both boys hope to be able to work at the hospital when they are older.
Jennifer Frey received her degree as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1999. She is originally from the Chicago area and anxiously awaited the day when she could return to skyscrapers and the excitement of city life.
Dr. Frey currently resides in the western suburbs with her husband, two small children, and an adorable Shih Tzu mix, Lexie. She has a strong interest in dermatology, ophthalmology, dentistry, and general medicine. She is excited to be a part of the PetVets team and looks forward to establishing a wonderful relationship with you and your furry companions.
Kara Kelleher-Brennan DVM, CCRP grew up in Chicago. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1998. While in veterinary school, Dr. Kelleher-Brennan became interested in physical rehabilitation. At the time, small animal physical rehabilitation was still an undeveloped discipline. Dr. Kelleher-Brennan completed her certification in Canine Physical Rehabilitation at the University of Tennessee in 2012.
Before joining PetVets, Dr. Kelleher-Brennan practiced small animal medicine in the suburbs and operated a small animal mobile rehab service. Her main interest is providing physical rehabilitation for dogs and cats in PetVets' Fit for Life program. She believes in treating each patient with kindness, respect, and compassion. Her goal is to have her patients live happy and healthy lives. She is thrilled to be part of the PetVets team!
Dr. Richa Sachdev was raised in the southern suburbs of Illinois. She attended Northwestern University in Evanston for her undergrad and then transferred to Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts. She left the island in 2007 and did her clinical year at U of I and graduated in 2008. She has a strong interest in dermatology, soft tissue surgery, and dentistry, and is currently in the process of being certified for veterinary acupuncture. She lives in the city with her husband, two sons, and three dogs (two rescue coconut retrievers from the island, and one rescue pittie from Chicago). In her spare time she enjoys traveling, exploring all the different types of food Chicago has to offer (you can always find a new one!), and spending time with her family.
Dr. Meg Barron is originally from the western suburbs of Chicago. She received both her undergraduate degree and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her special interests include geriatric medicine, soft tissue surgery, and animal behavior.
Dr. Barron lives in the city with her dog Oskee, a goofy yellow lab mix. She has a soft spot for senior dogs and cats, and currently fosters for senior rescue groups. In her spare time she enjoys reading, cooking, and rummaging around at flea markets.
The whole team is the jam! I have yet to find a vet that compares since I left Chicago. They took care of my pets through it all, are non-alarmist and are as good with people as they are with animals. I still try to pop in and say hi whenever I'm home. Highly recommend!
